Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Intermediate Legal Assistant to join our Private Client Services Group in Vancouver. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to our legal professionals, including drafting and preparing correspondence and documents, maintaining files, and performing various administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drafting and Preparing Correspondence and Documents

The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting and preparing correspondence and documents, including letters, reports, and other written materials. This will involve researching and gathering information, writing and editing documents, and ensuring that all materials are accurate and complete.

Maintaining Files and Records

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining files and records, including opening and closing files, and ensuring that all documents are properly stored and organized.

Administrative Support

The successful candidate will provide administrative support to our legal professionals, including managing email and calendar accounts, processing client invoices, and coordinating meetings and appointments.

Communication and Liaison

The successful candidate will be responsible for communicating with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders, including drafting and sending correspondence, making phone calls, and attending meetings.

Technical Skills

The successful candidate will be required to have excellent technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) and the ability to quickly learn new applications.

Requirements
  • Experience

The successful candidate will have at least 5 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, with a specialization in Wills and Estates.

Skills

The successful candidate will have excellent keyboarding skills, with a minimum of 60 wpm, and strong dictation transcription skills. They will also have strong organizational and time management skills, and excellent proofreading skills.

Education

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of current legal terminology and a solid foundation in business and administrative principles.

Personal Qualities

The successful candidate will be a team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a strong commitment to providing exceptional client service.
