Asset Protection Representative

About the Role:
Loblaw Companies Limited is seeking a highly skilled Asset Protection Representative to join our team. As an Asset Protection Representative, you will play a critical role in protecting our company's assets and ensuring a safe and secure shopping environment for our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deter, detect, and apprehend shoplifting and fraud in our retail stores.
- Collaborate with other Asset Protection Representatives to investigate cases of shoplifting at the provincial or national level, as needed.
- Regularly collaborate with local law enforcement agencies.
- Detect and investigate internal theft cases; compile and present evidence for court or arbitration purposes.
- Detect and identify opportunities for inventory reduction as part of our basic operational compliance.
- Build and maintain a partnership with stores through management meetings and exchanges; train and mentor colleagues on asset protection policies and procedures.
- Participate in store audits.
- Participate in community events.
- Available to work various shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends (40-hour workweek).
- Commitment to promoting an inclusive and belonging workplace.
Requirements:
- Valid provincial security guard permit required.
- Basic understanding of the Canadian Criminal Code, the Theft Act, and arrest powers, as well as CCTV or surveillance systems.
- Professional, friendly, and approachable behavior.
- A high degree of initiative and integrity is required to succeed in a dynamic environment.
