Job Overview

Cochrane – Smooth Rock Falls NCAS office is seeking a dedicated Addiction and Problem Gambling Counsellor to provide essential services to individuals recovering from substance use.

About the Role

This full-time position involves conducting assessments, referring clients to community services, communicating with treatment agencies, and offering education sessions on addiction and problem gambling. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field, along with experience in counselling services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments to ensure clients receive appropriate services.
  • Refer clients to other community services when necessary.
  • Maintain regular communication with community treatment agencies to monitor client progress.
  • Develop and deliver education sessions on addiction and problem gambling for the community.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Experience in providing counselling services.
  • Understanding of substance abuse and gambling issues.
  • Bilingualism in English and French (written and oral).
  • Membership in a professional college is considered an asset.
Compensation

The estimated annual salary for this role is $60,000 - $80,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
