Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Addiction Counsellor to join our team at North Cochrane Addiction Services Inc.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to work in a dynamic environment providing essential support and guidance to individuals struggling with addiction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments to ensure clients receive tailored services.
  • Develop and implement effective treatment plans, collaborating with other community services when necessary.
  • Maintain open communication with treatment agencies to monitor client progress.
  • Design and deliver educational sessions on addiction and problem gambling for the local community.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients, promoting trust and empowerment throughout their recovery journey.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will possess a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology or a related field, along with experience in counselling services and a deep understanding of substance abuse and gambling issues.

A strong command of both English and French (written and oral) is also essential, as is membership in a professional college, which is considered an asset.
