Your Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Qualified Person to join our team in Hamilton, Markham, or Brampton, ON offices. As an Environmental Qualified Person, you will be responsible for providing technical services related to Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, Excess Soil Management, and remediation systems. You will work closely with our Environmental Services Manager to deliver high-quality results and maintain excellent client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical services primarily focused on Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments to CSA and Ontario Regulation 153/04 requirements
  • Technical services related to Excess Soil Management to Ontario Regulation 406/19 requirements
  • Experience in completing peer reviews of technical documents and reports
  • Draw on technical skills and expertise to design, install, and conduct ongoing maintenance of remediation systems
  • Working familiarity with Ontario Regulation 153/04 and Ontario Regulation 406/19
  • Scope preparation
  • Report preparation
  • Review and evaluate the technical work of other staff
  • Maintain excellent client relationships in various industries
  • Working with clients, junior staff, and project managers

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • 5+ years of experience in environmental assessments and excess soil
  • Professional designation in Ontario and QPESA designation
  • University degree in a related field of study such as Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Hydrogeology, or Geology
  • Highly technical abilities in environmental site assessment and remediation design, combined with a mechanical aptitude
  • Knowledge of risk assessment/remediation systems/techniques
  • Extensive working knowledge of Ontario Regulation 153/04, as amended (including the filing of Record of Site Condition)
  • Extensive working knowledge of Ontario Regulation 406/19, as amended
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as advanced technical writing abilities
  • Ability to problem solve, troubleshoot, and put forth creative solutions
