Empower Simcoe is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Scheduling Coordinator to join our team in the Accommodations program. As a key member of our administrative team, you will be responsible for ensuring adequate staffing levels, covering shifts, and performing various administrative duties to support the program.
Key Responsibilities- Review and analyze staffing needs to ensure adequate coverage for group living and supported independent living locations.
- Coordinate with Accommodations Supports and Services Supervisors, Scheduling, and outside placement agencies to fill shifts.
- Notify Scheduling and supervisors of shift coverage and ensure employees are properly remunerated.
- Maintain a tracking system to monitor staff availability and shift acceptance.
- Coordinate daily activities of the Scheduling Office, including sorting and classifying scheduling emails, answering phone inquiries, and processing scheduling changes.
- Assist with posting shifts, allocating staff, and ensuring compliance with collective agreements, employment legislation, and scheduling principles.
- Perform other duties and assignments as required by the Scheduling Supports & Services Manager.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Minimum three years of recent full-time experience in administration, human resources, with emphasis on experience utilizing a computerized scheduling system and working in a unionized environment.
- Excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate.
- Above-average attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and within tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated advanced computer skills, specifically scheduling software, Word, and Excel.
- Working knowledge of the Employment Standards Act and Occupational Health and Safety Act, with the ability to apply regulations as they pertain to scheduling.
- A background in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities is an asset.
- Ability to interpret collective agreements and apply the provisions of these agreements, as well as employment legislation, scheduling principles, and ensure employees are scheduled appropriately.
- Must be available to work between the hours of 7:00am and 5:00pm.
- A valid G-class driver's license and own reliable transportation are required.
- From time to time, must be available for shifts as assigned, outside of normal working hours.
- Motivated to keep up to date on technology and current on government legislation, collective agreements, and agency standards of practice.
