Job Summary:The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner will work in partnership with our multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive medical assessment, management, and education to pediatric patients. You will be responsible for providing direct patient care, coordination of care, discharge planning, and coordination of related community and other resources. You will also have the opportunity to participate in continuing education activities, research initiatives, and system changes to enhance interdisciplinary care teams.
Responsibilities:- Provide direct patient care, including physical assessment, diagnosis, and management of pediatric patients
- Coordinate care, including discharge planning and coordination of related community and other resources
- Participate in continuing education activities, research initiatives, and system changes to enhance interdisciplinary care teams
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive medical assessment, management, and education to pediatric patients
- Develop and implement education programs for patients, families, and staff
- Current Certificate of Registration in the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse in the Extended Class RN(EC)
- Completion of a Post-Master's of Nursing—Nurse Practitioner program with a focus in pediatrics
- Minimum five years nursing experience in the pediatric acute care setting
- Minimum 2-3 years experience in applying advanced nephrology knowledge, physical assessment skills, diagnostic interventions, and self-care or caregiver-lead management skills for pediatric patients in an ambulatory setting
