We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse Coordinator to join our team at Northern Health Authority.



Job Summary

The Licensed Practical Nurse Coordinator is responsible for providing first-line supervision to LPN nursing staff and unregulated care staff, and providing nursing care to an assigned group of residents/patients/clients according to established policies and procedures.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Provide first-line supervision to LPN nursing staff and unregulated care staff.
  • Coordinate the work of the LPN and unregulated care staff on the unit(s), including making and adjusting work assignments, providing work direction, scheduling staff, monitoring and following up on the work of staff to ensure outcomes of care are achieved.
  • Provide nursing care to an assigned group of residents/patients/clients according to established policies and procedures and the Standards of Practice for the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to promote a safe, respectful, and civil working environment for patients, residents, families, visitors, and staff.
  • Contribute to the creation of a vibrant community by providing leadership and support to staff, and promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.


Requirements:


  • Graduation from an approved school in Practical Nursing.
  • Two (2) years' recent, related clinical and/or supervisory experience in a community health setting.
  • Current practicing registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Valid BC Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for business-related purposes.
