Overview of the Role

Northern Health Authority is seeking a motivated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse to fill the role of LPN Coordinator at our facility in Dawson Creek. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing first-line supervision to LPN nursing staff and unregulated care staff.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with patients, residents, families, visitors, and staff to promote a safe, respectful, and civil working environment. You will also be responsible for coordinating the work of the LPN and unregulated care staff on the unit(s), making and adjusting work assignments, and providing work direction.

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $73,473 - $97,743 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefit package, including extended health/dental and a municipal pension plan for part-time and full-time employees, we also provide four weeks vacation with one year of continuous service.

Job Description

The successful candidate will possess a strong background in practical nursing, with a minimum of two years' recent, related clinical and/or supervisory experience in a community health setting. A current practicing registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) is also required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assessment and Intervention: Complete initial and ongoing client assessments and provide nursing care through appropriate technical, therapeutic, and safety-type interventions.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with clients, families, the public, medical staff, and members of the interdisciplinary team using verbal, written, and computer communication means.
  • Critical Thinking: Integrate and evaluate pertinent data from multiple sources to problem-solve effectively.
  • Human Caring and Relationship Centered Practice: Promote client-focused care that demonstrates care for and with clients and significant others, sensitive to diverse cultures and preferences.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an approved school in Practical Nursing.
  • Current practicing registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Valid BC Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for business-related purposes.
