Job Summary

Royal Bank of Canada is seeking a skilled Associate Portfolio Manager to join our esteemed team in Vancouver, BC. As a key member of our investment management team, you will collaborate closely with Senior Portfolio Managers to deliver tailored investment solutions for our high net worth and ultra-high net worth clientele.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a substantial portfolio of over one billion dollars across various asset classes, including money market securities, stocks, bonds, and alternative investments.
  • Implement investment policy decisions, monitor asset mixes, rebalance portfolios, and manage risk.
  • Assist with day-to-day portfolio review, asset allocation rebalancing, and executing and monitoring trades as directed by the Portfolio Manager.
  • Prepare and deliver market commentaries and portfolio performance reviews.
  • Conduct research analysis and participate in regional/national projects to improve investment solutions.
Requirements
  • University degree in business or a related field.
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
  • Excellent understanding of the investment industry and financial products.
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to understand and interpret investment solutions, the markets, and the economy, and communicate effectively to various audiences.
  • Good knowledge of business trends and sales methodologies in the wealth management industry.
  • Minimum 3 years of portfolio management experience and 5 years of investment industry experience.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.

The expected base salary range for this position is $38,000 - $55,000, depending on experience, skills, and registration status. You also have the potential to earn considerably more through RBC's robust discretionary bonus program, provided the business meets its performance targets and you meet your individual goals.
