We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst to join our team at Teck, a leading diversified resource company. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing data pipelines and data models to support various business intelligence and analytics tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead by Example: Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and environmental stewardship, adhering to and sponsoring safety and environmental rules and procedures.
  • Improve Data Availability: Collaborate with application owners and stakeholders to enhance data presentation and availability.
  • Data Collection and Transformation: Utilize ETL tools, database management system tools, including Azure Data Factory, SQL Server Integration Services, Python, and C++ to collect, blend, and transform data.
  • Data Modeling: Participate in the development of data models to structure data for Business Intelligence consumption formats.
  • Aggregation and Security: Perform aggregation on data across various warehousing models, such as OLAP cubes and star schemas, and incorporate security requirements into design.
  • Testing and Troubleshooting: Perform unit and integration testing, and find and troubleshoot application issues.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, or equivalent, combined with a minimum of 3 years' experience, or a diploma in Computer Science, or equivalent, combined with a minimum of 4.5 years' experience.
  • Technical Skills: Minimum three years' experience in data analysis and preparation, including experience with very large data sets of unstructured data, and experience with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, or SQL Data Warehouse.
  • Business Acumen: Understanding of business drivers and challenges faced by clients, and ability to proficiently deal with multiple competing priorities.
  • Communication Skills: Effective verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to business users.
