Job Summary

United Carriers Ltd. is seeking a skilled Truck Driver to join our team. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently across the country.

Key Responsibilities
  • Load and Unload Goods: Safely load and unload goods from our vehicles, ensuring that all items are properly secured and accounted for.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain our vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition, including checking tires, lights, brakes, and cold storage.
  • Payment and Receipt: Process payments for goods and receive payments from customers, ensuring accurate and timely transactions.
  • Emergency Repairs: Perform emergency roadside repairs to get our vehicles back on the road as quickly as possible.
  • Inspections: Conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections to ensure our vehicles are safe and compliant with regulations.
  • Communication: Relay information to central dispatch and receive updates on delivery schedules and other important information.
  • Record Keeping: Accurately record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption to ensure compliance with regulations and optimize our operations.
Requirements
  • Driver's License: Hold a valid Class 1 or A driver's license.
  • Weight Handling: Be able to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and handle heavy loads safely.
  • Personal Qualities: Possess flexibility, organization, and reliability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience: Willingness to train and learn our systems and procedures.
