Job Summary

VCA Canada is seeking an experienced Veterinary Receptionist, Animal Care Attendant to join our team at Secord Animal Hospital. This is an exceptional opportunity for an organized, motivated, and empathetic individual to support our hospital's operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients and their pets, creating a welcoming environment and putting them at ease.
  • Remain calm and adaptable in stressful situations, ensuring a smooth workflow.
  • Assist the veterinary staff with various tasks and treatments, including scheduling appointments, admitting and discharging pet patients, and providing compassionate care duties.
  • Process payments, create estimates, and maintain accurate records.
  • Contribute to the overall cleanliness and maintenance of the hospital, including reception, pet holding areas, and common spaces.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in software applications.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Veterinary Assistant (VA) or Veterinary Assistant Office Administration (VAOA) program certificate an asset.
