We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Care Specialist to join our team at Port Elgin Veterinary Clinic. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to our patients and their owners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and treat diseases or abnormal conditions in individual animals, herds, and flocks through physical examinations or laboratory tests.
  • Prescribe medication, set bones, dress wounds, or perform surgery as needed.
  • Vaccinate animals to prevent and treat diseases.
  • Advise clients on feeding, housing, behavior, breeding, hygiene, and general care of animals.
  • Enforce government regulations in disease control and food production, including animal or animal-based food inspection.
  • Perform routine, emergency, and post-mortem examinations.
  • Provide a range of veterinary services, including obstetrics, dentistry, and euthanasia.
Requirements
  • Certification from the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association.
  • Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities.
  • Manual dexterity, attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, crouch, kneel, and combine sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, flexibility, initiative, and reliability.
