About the Role

The Senior Practice Leader, Immunization Programs, is a key position within the BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC), responsible for promoting excellence in nursing practice and quality of patient care.

As a leader, innovator, and knowledge translator, this individual will be accountable for program coordination, consultation, education, dissemination of research, and administration across the Health Authorities and the province.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a resource and consultant for local, provincial, and national planning in immunization programs;
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of provincial guidelines and standards of practice for immunization programs;
  • Promote evidenced-based practice and share knowledge about current research and literature;
  • Provide leadership and expert clinical consultation to public health practitioners;
  • Lead and support knowledge translation and communication of best practices and successful programming for immunization;
  • Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and facilitate provincial collaboration.

Requirements

  • A Master's degree in Nursing or a related field and a minimum of 5 years of recent, related clinical experience in immunization and public health nursing;
  • Eligibility for registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM);
  • Strong facilitation skills, ability to communicate effectively, and ability to work independently and as an effective member of an interdisciplinary care team.
