Business Intelligence Director

Sun Life Financial is seeking a highly skilled Business Intelligence Director to lead our Group Benefits Analytics team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and delivering analytics business support to our Group Benefits business teams.
The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of analytical experience, with 3+ years of recent experience in business analytics/BI and/or developing and implementing data science techniques. They will also have a proven ability to solve complex business problems and expert knowledge and experience in data analytics and application in business strategy for effective decision making.
The Director, GB (Group Benefits) Analytics will be responsible for managing a highly skilled team of employees focused on analytics and data engineering, and will collaborate with analytic teams across Sun Life to support delivery of initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, manage, and deliver analytics business support to GB business teams.
- Collaborate with analytics resources in all relevant technical teams (GB Analytics, Health Analytics, Client Experience Office Analytics, IT).
- Support the Canadian Dental Care Program analytics requirements until April 2025 and potentially further into the future as required.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of analytical experience with 3+ years of recent experience in business analytics/BI and/or developing and implementing data science techniques.
- 3+ years of leading a data analytics team, or equivalent experience as a senior member of a team leading projects and providing managerial support.
- Expert knowledge and experience in data analytics and application in business strategy for effective decision making.
- Proven ability to solve complex business problems.
- Strong inclination to proactively share knowledge and expertise with others to build the data analytics community and capability in the broader company around data analytics.
- Expert verbal, written, and presentation skills to communicate and frame complex information simply for senior leader decision making on complex business issues.
- Considered an expert among peers on one or more aspects of data analytics and the business.
- Knowledge of the GB business is preferred.
- As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada or worldwide.
