Job Title: Infection Prevention and Control Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Infection Prevention and Control Specialist to join our team at Tri-County Mennonite Homes. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Infection Prevention and Control program across all sites, promoting interdisciplinary health management, and developing and delivering education in collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the Infection Prevention and Control program, ensuring compliance with quality and risk management standards.
  • Promote interdisciplinary health management, fostering a culture of awareness and best practices in Infection Prevention and Control.
  • Develop and deliver education programs, including policy revision and implementation.
  • Lead outbreak management activities, ensuring all IPAC measures are in place.
  • Coordinate IPAC annual program evaluation and ensure written records are kept.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to staff in Infection Prevention and Control practices.
  • Develop and monitor Infection Prevention and Control programs for effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Participate in OH&S Committee meetings and report on IPAC statistics.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary degree in a relevant health science or related discipline.
  • Registered Practical Nurse is preferred.
  • Current registration with the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology, or willingness to obtain.
  • Completion of an Infection Prevention and Control Canada endorsed IPAC course.
