About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager, HR Business Partner to join our team at Scotiabank. As a key member of our Human Resources department, you will play a critical role in supporting the overall success of our business by delivering strategic talent initiatives and providing expert HR advice and counsel to senior management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Strategic Talent Plans: Collaborate with HR stakeholders and business partners to develop and implement strategic talent plans that align with the company's overall business objectives.
  • Provide Expert HR Advice and Counsel: Provide expert HR advice and counsel to senior management on talent management, organizational development, and change management.
  • Build and Maintain Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders within the HR community and the business to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Lead Cyclical Programs and Projects: Lead cyclical programs and projects such as employee engagement surveys, leadership resource planning, year-end performance management, and compensation reviews.
  • Manage Programs and Projects: Manage programs and projects including planning, implementation, coordination, communication, and post-mortem analysis.
  • Prepare and Present Reports: Prepare and present reports to senior management on talent management, organizational development, and change management.
  • Champion a High-Performance Environment: Champion a high-performance environment and implement a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates employees.
Requirements
  • 5+ Years of HR Experience: 5+ years of experience in HR, preferably in an HR Business Partner or generalist capacity.
  • Strong Business Acumen: Strong business acumen and ability to understand the company's overall business objectives.
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and make recommendations.
  • CHRP, CHRL, or Other HR Designation: CHRP, CHRL, or other HR designation, or in progress.
