Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer to join our team at Laporte. As a Process Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting and leading process engineering requirements for client projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Lead all project phases, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards, defined scope, timelines, and budget.
  • Design and Development: Develop conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs, drawings, and specifications for process systems.
  • Quality Assurance: Review engineering deliverables, maintain high standards of quality, and define project risks.
  • Client Interaction: Participate in client needs and project definition, review client specifications, and conduct site visits for project-related activities.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively as part of multi-disciplinary design teams located in offices across North America.
  • Business Development: Pursue opportunities for business development and future growth of the organization across various regions.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.
  • Experience: 3-10 years of progressive experience in process design for the food, beverage, or biotech industry.
  • Skills: Experience in designing fluid and bulk materials handling processes, sanitary process systems, and familiarity with CFIA and HACCP requirements.
  • Professional Designation: Provincial (P.Eng) or State (PE) designation or eligibility.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership, relationship management, and organizational planning and project management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and proficiency in using the Microsoft Office Suite, Autocad, and Revit.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, listening, and interpersonal skills.
