Role Overview

Aecon Concessions is seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our Finance team in Montreal. This 1-year contract position will provide an exciting opportunity to work on high-impact infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate month-end close-off process for the Division and its projects, ensuring timely completion and accuracy of financial reports.
  • Proportionate consolidation of Joint Venture statements, reviewing JV statements, and preparing consolidation journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Prepare and present month-end and quarterly financial reporting packages for Major Projects East, providing insightful analysis and recommendations.
  • Prepare and coordinate various monthly and quarterly financial reports, ensuring compliance with internal audit requirements and IFRS standards.
  • Assist payroll & system setup for Quebec's hourly employees, maintaining up-to-date employee information and ensuring seamless HR processes.
  • Review project cost reports and forecasts, ensuring that information is presented accurately and consistently with current assumptions and financial reports.
  • Review and approve employee expenses, maintaining company policies and ensuring transparency in financial transactions.
  • Monthly preparation of back-charge invoices for staff costs and recoverable expenses, ensuring prompt payment and accurate reconciliation.
  • Responsible for financial planning, including preparation and monitoring of quarterly re-forecast and annual business plan, driving strategic decision-making and growth.
  • Provide SAP support and assistance, analyzing account data and preparing audit working papers to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist with interim and year-end audit and IFRS reporting requirements, ensuring timely completion and quality of financial reports.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree in Commerce or Administration with an Accounting major.
  • CPA certification required.
  • Minimum five years' post-qualification experience in accounting, with a strong background in finance and budgeting.
  • Ability to deal effectively with project staff, Joint Venture partners, banks, and other stakeholders, demonstrating excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Hands-on experience in using SAP, with proficiency in financial software and tools.
  • Construction experience is preferred, but not essential.
  • Team player, self-motivated, and ability to meet tight deadlines, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Must be bilingual (English & French), with excellent language skills and cultural awareness.
