Job Overview

As a seasoned leader, you'll oversee consulting operations across British Columbia and the Yukon Territory, reporting to the Chief Operating Officer. Your responsibilities will include business development, ensuring successful project delivery, and optimizing operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop and execute the regional operations plan in line with BBA's goals in collaboration with the COO and other executives.
  2. Lead strategic business development initiatives to pursue high-value engineering projects, ensuring long-term growth and profitability.
  3. Implement a structure that maximizes cross-selling services across offices and departments to optimize client engagement.
  4. Build and maintain strong governance relationships with clients, external consultants, regulatory authorities, and industry partners.
  5. Oversee engineering activities across multiple locations, ensuring top-tier performance, quality, and safety.
  6. Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor regional performance.
  7. Manage operational efficiency of processes, applying best practices and continuous improvement methodologies.
  8. Ensure all engineering, field, and consulting activities comply with federal, provincial, and local regulations and standards.
  9. Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing directors and managers.
  10. Foster and promote BBA's culture and business model while serving as an ambassador.
  11. Lead talent acquisition, retention, and professional development initiatives to build a robust and skilled workforce.
  12. Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and public forums to enhance its reputation.
  13. Promote adopting advanced technologies and innovative solutions to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements and Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field; a master's degree (MBA) is preferred.
  2. At least 15 years of experience in engineering or consulting operations, with at least 10 years' experience in a senior leadership role.
  3. Proven experience managing engineering, field, or consulting projects and operations across multiple locations in both OPEX and CAPEX project types.
  4. Solid understanding of the Canadian heavy industry market, especially in the energy and natural resource industry, if possible.
  5. Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to develop and implement effective operational plans.
  6. Ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
  7. Strategic thinker and fast learner with strong business acumen.
  8. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
  9. Exceptional communication and people skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  10. High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical standards.
  11. Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  12. Adaptability and resilience to navigate complex and dynamic environments.
  13. Available to travel to BBA offices across the organization.
  14. Asset: bilingual (English and French), both spoken and written.

BBA's Total Rewards Package

  1. Annual base salary between $185,000 and $254,000.
  2. Bonuses Program.
