Karahi Boys - Head Chef Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Head Chef to join our dynamic team at Karahi Boys. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for leading our culinary team and ensuring that every dish served meets our high standards.

About the Role:

  • Lead a team of cooks and other kitchen staff to prepare and cook meals for our guests;
  • Maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory;
  • Develop new recipes and menus to keep our offerings fresh and exciting;
  • Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation techniques;
  • Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets;
  • Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff to ensure efficient and safe food preparation and service;
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies as needed;
  • Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs to maintain our high-quality kitchen facilities;
  • Consult with clients regarding weddings, banquets, and specialty functions to tailor our menu offerings to their needs;
  • Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities for multiple restaurants within the company.

Requirements:

  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience as a Head Chef or similar role;
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team and maintain high standards of quality and customer satisfaction;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with cooks, management, and clients;
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining a fast-paced environment;
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing menu offerings, kitchen procedures, and business demands;
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in hospitality or a related field an asset.
