Chief Investigative Officer, Canadian Safe Sport

Job Summary:We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Chief Investigative Officer to lead the Canadian Safe Sport Program's Investigations team.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in law enforcement, public administration, or social sciences, with at least 7 years of progressive experience in leadership positions. They will have demonstrated success in managing multi-faceted programs across various stakeholder groups and have knowledge of the Universal Code of Conduct to Prevent and Address Maltreatment in Sport (UCCMS).
About the Role:This is a senior leadership position that requires strategic vision, organizational leadership, and collaboration with various stakeholders, including international partners. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the investigation process, developing policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with CSSP Rules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Investigations team effectively and manage the budget to ensure goals and desired outcomes are realized.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director, Safe Sport, to develop strategic goals for the CSSP.
- Work with law enforcement agencies and child welfare as required.
- Develop relationships with international partners to improve and advance investigation processes.
- Ensure implementation of health and wellness models for the Investigations team and provide recommendations on improvements.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A university degree in law, public administration, social sciences, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in relevant leadership positions.
- Demonstrated success in managing multi-faceted programs across a broad stakeholder sector.
- Knowledge of the UCCMS and its implementation across Canadian sport systems.
