About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Advisor to join our Strategy and Corporate Development team at National Bank. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in driving the Bank's success by providing strategic guidance and expertise in mergers and acquisitions, strategic partnerships, financial analysis, and corporate strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze the business context and identify opportunities for growth and expansion
  • Coordinate the analysis, negotiation, and execution of mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnership activities
  • Lead financial analysis and due diligence for various projects
  • Support the development and implementation of the Bank's strategic plan and annual business plan
  • Identify and pursue organic growth opportunities
  • Conduct strategic analyses and provide recommendations to senior management to improve the Bank's positioning
  • Manage and contribute to matrix project teams to drive growth and expansion initiatives
About the Team

You will be part of a dynamic team of 5 colleagues, reporting directly to the VP, Corporate Development Strategy. Our team's mission is to be a centre of expertise for strategic monitoring, advice on corporate strategy, and evaluation of investments or strategic partnerships.

Requirements
  • Industry-related bachelor's degree and 10 years of relevant experience or industry-related master's degree and 8 years of relevant experience
  • CPA (CMA, CGA, CA) or Financial Analyst (CFA) designation
  • Experience in team management in a matrix environment
  • Experience in business strategy or corporate development
  • Experience in valuation, business acquisition, and due diligence
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet demanding deadlines
  • Excellent listening, communication, influencing, and writing skills
  • Knowledge of the Canadian financial industry and its various products and services
