Job Summary

This is a permanent full-time position with NL Health Services - Labrador Grenfell Zone. The successful candidate will work as a member of the healthcare team, providing support and care to patients in a rural and remote setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform various tasks, including clerical and receptionist duties, patient care, environmental and laundry services, and laboratory services as required.
  • Work with the general public, requiring diplomacy, discretion, confidentiality, and initiative.
  • Under the direction of the Regional Nurse II and Clinical Nurse Manager, the successful candidate will be a responsible member of the team.
Qualifications
  • Completion of Personal Care Attendant or equivalent experience.
  • Completion of High School or equivalent.
  • Valid drivers' class 05 license.
  • Successful completion of Transportation of Dangerous Goods, Emergency First Aid, and CPR or willingness to obtain.
  • Completion of computer training in email, Microsoft Word, and Excel programs, or willingness to complete online training within the probationary period.
  • Knowledge of universal precautions or willingness to learn.
  • Ability to perform tasks as a member of the healthcare team.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions and standardized plans.
  • Willingness to obtain education in Venipuncture.
  • Ability to understand and follow written instructions.
  • Successful completion of the Advanced Medical First Responder Program or willingness to complete as outlined by the employer.
  • The successful applicant will be required to submit a satisfactory certificate of conduct and vulnerable sector check.
Working Conditions
  • May be required to work alone.
  • Meets Labrador-Grenfell Health flights.
Salary and Benefits

CG-24 of the NAPE-HS salary scales $23.86 to $26.18 per hour, plus the applicable Labrador Allowance.

Hours of Work

Variable Shifts; 75 hours Bi-Weekly.
