Business Intelligence Developer Opportunity
The University of Saskatchewan is seeking a skilled Business Intelligence Developer to join our team. As a key member of our Information and Communications Technology group, you will collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their information needs and develop reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with business stakeholders to define management and strategic reporting requirements, develop report and data visualization prototypes, and address data quality issues.
- Design and Development: Create and implement business intelligence solutions, including data models, reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using Microsoft Fabric, SQL, SSIS, and Power BI.
- ETL Processes: Design, develop, and test extract-transform-load (ETL) processes to integrate data into the institutional data warehouse, monitor and troubleshoot nightly ETL jobs, and resolve performance or data load issues.
- Data Governance and Security: Ensure compliance with data governance policies and security standards, implement access controls, data encryption, and data masking techniques to protect sensitive information, and collaborate with data managers and data stewards to standardize business terms, define and classify data, and establish access and information requirements.
- Documentation: Develop and post documentation for customized tasks, procedures, and services related to your work.
- Communication: Provide regular updates to the manager and the team on progress, emerging issues, and new opportunities.
- Continuous Learning: Stay current with the latest trends and advancements in business intelligence and participate in training opportunities as directed by your manager.
Requirements:
- An undergraduate degree in computer science, information systems, or a related discipline, with additional professional training in data warehousing, business intelligence, analytics, or business analysis a plus.
- Five years of solid experience with data integration, data warehousing, or business intelligence.
