About the Role


We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Support Specialist to join our team at ATS Automation. The successful candidate will provide expert technical support to our customers, troubleshooting and resolving complex issues with control systems and automation equipment.



Key Responsibilities



  • Remotely troubleshoot and resolve control system issues, utilizing industry best practices and technical expertise.
  • Document all call activities, including troubleshooting steps, PCOF, and resolutions or dispositions.
  • Collaborate with ATS controls SMEs to identify opportunities for improvement and upgrade.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to customers on the use of their automation equipment, including programming and troubleshooting.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to achieve high customer satisfaction and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge base of operating and troubleshooting information for the Remote Operations team.
  • Coordinate with the owning ATS division as required to assist in resolving technical issues.


Requirements



  • Associates or Bachelor of Science in a related field (BSEE, BSEET, BS Industrial Automation, Computer Science, Mathematics, Mechatronics, etc.).
  • 10+ years' experience in automation, with a strong background in control systems and technical support.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, & Excel.
  • Ability to do basic/intermediate programming in other programming languages (i.e. Visual Basic, C or C++ language).
  • DCS certification is a plus, but not required.
  • Good understanding of mechanical systems.
  • Must be proficient in reading mechanical and electrical schematics and other machine drawings while referencing the SPL and BOM.
  • Ability to read, speak, write, & understand English in a professional manner.
  • Strong customer service presence.
  • Excellent interpersonal & communication skills; Experience working with customers to resolve problems.
  • Willingness and ability to travel 15%.
  • Must be eligible and able to travel domestically & internationally within 30 days from hire date and legally eligible to operate a vehicle, as this is an essential job function.
