We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team
Job Responsibilities- Provide flexible, community-based services that promote the stability, recovery, and community reintegration of individuals with mental illness and substance use issues.
- Coordinate and provide assessment, crisis intervention, and follow-up services to clients and identified supports.
- Collaborate with the interprofessional team to develop treatment plans for clients with complex substance use and mental illnesses.
- Perform routine team responsibilities, including lead responsibility for integrating concurrent treatment with the tasks of other team members.
- Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) is required.
- Completion of post-basic specialty nursing certificate/program if applicable and three (3) years' recent, related experience in the designated specialized clinical area.
- Valid BC Driver's License and access to personal vehicle for local area travel may be required.
- Assessment and Intervention: Demonstrated ability to complete initial and ongoing client assessments and provide nursing care through appropriate technical, therapeutic, safety-type interventions.
- Communication: Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, the public, medical staff, and the members of the interdisciplinary team.
- Critical Thinking: Demonstrated ability to integrate and evaluate pertinent data to problem-solve effectively.
- Human Caring and Relationship Centered Practice: Ability to promote client-focused care that demonstrates care for and with clients and significant others.
- Teaching: Ability to transmit information intended to instruct clients and others about topics essential to health care and well-being.
- Management: Manages time and resources, implementing activities to promote cooperation among relevant others.
- Leadership: Promotes staff morale, cooperation, assertiveness, and risk-taking.
Northern Health covers an area of nearly 600,000 square kilometers and offers health services in over two dozen communities and 55 First Nation's communities. We deliver hospital and community-based health care for a population of 300,000.
