Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Estimator to join our team at Kiewit. As a Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for developing detailed cost estimates for large, complex projects in the infrastructure development sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop comprehensive cost estimates for infrastructure projects, including highways, bridges, mass transit, and hydroelectric power generation.
  • Supervise and review estimates prepared by other estimating groups or JV partners to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Conduct site investigations to identify potential problems or conditions that may impact project costs.
  • Utilize engineering techniques and procedures to conduct investigations and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Perform design work as required by the project, including handling technical problems encountered during bid preparation.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, including new equipment, methods, and procedures.
  • Prepare special engineering studies or reports required by certain bid items or conditions.
  • Consult with owners on various problems discovered during bid preparation, design, rates, schedules, etc.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in Civil Engineering or Construction-related technology, or extensive and related work experience.
  • 7 to 10 years' related experience in infrastructure development, including highways, bridges, mass transit, and hydroelectric power generation.
  • Extensive knowledge and demonstrated experience with infrastructure projects, including heavy civil and concrete structures.
  • Exceptionally strong attention to detail, communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Experience with various estimating software systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Functional knowledge of English (written and verbal) is considered an asset.
