Job Overview

As Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting project specifications, drawings, and reference information to develop comprehensive cost estimates for complex projects. Your expertise will be utilized to make assumptions based on experience when detailed plans are not provided and to perform front-end estimating based on conceptual designs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed, comprehensive cost estimates for large, complex projects.
  • Supervise estimators in the preparation of check estimates and review estimates prepared by other estimating groups to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Review owner plans and specifications to develop a comprehensive understanding of the project.
  • Conduct site investigations to identify potential problems or conditions that may impact the project.
  • Utilize engineering techniques and standard company procedures to conduct investigations and develop estimates.
  • Prepare special engineering studies or reports as required by the project.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in Civil Engineering or Construction-related technology.
  • 7 to 10 years' related experience with infrastructure projects, including highways, mass transit, hydroelectric power, and heavy civil construction.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Experience with estimating software systems and Microsoft Office products.
  • Functional knowledge of English is considered an asset.
