Job Summary:

As a key member of the R&D tax team at ATS Automation, you will work closely with various business segments to identify and capitalize on scientific and technological advancements. Your expertise will be essential in developing comprehensive understanding of projects undertaken and identifying how they meet the various R&D guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Meet with engineering team leads and project managers to develop a thorough understanding of projects and identify R&D opportunities
  • Write and review compelling technical project reports to highlight key technical factors and support R&D tax claims
  • Prepare persuasive responses to tax authority challenges regarding project technical merit
  • Build and maintain relationships with engineering and finance staff to provide high levels of service to business units and corporate group
  • Adapt and apply existing knowledge to different business segments and build on core capabilities
  • Training will be provided in financial and tax implications, preparation, and reporting aspects of R&D benefits to ATS
  • Occasional travel to the US and Europe may be required
Requirements:
  • Degree or diploma in a technical area (Science and/or engineering)
  • Science, technology, or engineering industry experience either as a technical writer or technician
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Past R&D tax experience is advantageous
