About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and creative Residential Design Director to oversee the design process of residential projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in architectural design, focusing on residential homes, and possess excellent leadership and project management skills.

This position requires a keen eye for design, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of custom home projects, ensuring alignment with client requirements, local regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Oversee architectural design processes, including initial concept development, design revisions, and final approvals.
  • Closely collaborate with clients to understand their vision, providing design recommendations and ensuring their needs are met.
  • Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and other consultants to ensure project timelines, budgets, and quality standards are adhered to.
  • Manage and mentor a team of junior designers, providing guidance, feedback, and support on project designs.
  • Evaluate all design work for compliance with local building codes, zoning regulations, and environmental standards.
  • Review and approve architectural drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new materials, and technology to implement innovative design solutions.
  • Conduct design presentations and meetings with stakeholders, providing clear communication and updates on project progress.

Requirements:

  • A 3-year Architectural Diploma or related field (required).
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in architectural design, specifically in residential or home design projects.
  • Prior experience managing design teams and overseeing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong proficiency in architectural design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp).
  • Excellent understanding of building codes, regulations, and construction processes.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage budgets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
