We invite qualified professionals to join our team as a Development Review Technician in the Development Engineering Division. Located in the heart of Southern Ontario, Brantford is a rapidly growing community of over 100,000 residents with direct access to Hwy. 403 and proximity to major regions.

This is a great opportunity for individuals passionate about infrastructure development and municipal services. The successful candidate will assist with day-to-day activities, reviewing engineering plans and reports for minor development applications. Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate technical submissions, providing comments on Site Plans and Committee of Adjustment applications;
  • Ensure municipal infrastructure coordination with adjacent developments;
  • Review plot plans for residential houses within infill and subdivision developments;
  • Maintain databases, develop policies, procedures, and technical standards;
  • Represent the City during meetings, responding to requests and attending events as required;

To be considered for this role, applicants must have a strong educational background in Civil Engineering or a related field, along with relevant experience in engineering design and municipal servicing. Knowledge of provincial regulations and urban planning processes is essential.

A comprehensive understanding of municipal infrastructure, including storm water management and road design, is also necessary. Strong time management skills, proficiency in reading engineering drawings and specifications, and excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.

Experience working with computer applications, including Microsoft Office and GIS systems, is an asset. A valid driver's license is also necessary for employment.
