At Suncor Energy, we are seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer to join our team in a 4-16 month work term starting in May 2025. This role will provide an exceptional opportunity to gain meaningful work experience and shape the trajectory of your career path.

We are looking for students who are currently enrolled in an undergraduate Mechanical Engineering program at an accredited post-secondary institution. As a successful candidate, you will be returning to full-time studies after the work term. You must possess strong computer skills, including familiarity with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as a valid driver's license and a clean driving record for some roles.

This role involves developing a familiarity with various types of mechanical equipment within Suncor's operations, including piping, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, fired heaters, pumps, compressors, material handling equipment, and mining equipment. You will develop tools for tracking reliability, inspection, and operating information, and support engineering and maintenance teams in responding to day-to-day operational issues.

The estimated salary for this role is $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on location and qualifications. Potential locations include Calgary, Fort McMurray, Edmonton Refinery, or our Oakville office.

You will also have the opportunity to support capital projects and maintenance engineering through the design and execution phases, including producing and reviewing engineering deliverables, construction support. Additionally, you will prepare and present summary reports, performance metrics reports, graphical representation, data analysis, and presentations, as required.
