About the Opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Specialist to join our team at the First Nations Health Authority. As a Nursing Practice Consultant, you will play a critical role in delivering professional nursing support and educational activities to community-based mental health and substance use programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver professional nursing support and educational activities to community-based mental health and substance use programs
- Support the planning and implementation of training and skill development activities for community nurses employed in the delivery of nursing care in First Nations communities
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from a recognized university or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Additional training and education related to substance use, addictions, mental health, and trauma-informed practice
- Three (3) years of experience as a registered nurse providing clinical practice support in primary care, community, and/or public health nursing or acute care, ambulatory care, and/or outpatient centers, including two (2) years of experience caring for clients with mental health and substance use concerns
- Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)
Benefits
- Competitive salary range: $80,000 - $110,000 per year
- Municipal pension plan with an employer contribution of 9.31%
