Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our dynamic team at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta. As a key member of our interdisciplinary rehabilitation department, you will play a critical role in providing expert care to patients with swallowing and communication difficulties.

Your Role:
As a Speech-Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for conducting bedside and instrumental assessments, developing and implementing interventions related to swallowing disorders, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care. Your expertise will inform ongoing quality improvement initiatives, service integration, and program development.

Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct thorough assessments of patients with swallowing and communication difficulties
* Develop and implement effective interventions to address swallowing disorders
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care
* Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to program development

Requirements:
* Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution
* Active or eligible registration with the Alberta College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA)
* Heart and stroke CPR (BCLS-HCP) certification
* Greater than 6 months experience working with dysphagia in an adult acute care population
* Experience completing Videofluoroscopic swallowing studies independently
* Excellent clinical reasoning, communication, and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience working with marginalized populations
* Knowledge of inner-city resources and community organizations
* Familiarity with computer applications such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
* Experience with electronic medical records systems like Connect Care

Compensation Package:
We offer a competitive salary range of $83,000 - $115,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits, including extended health and dental coverage, pension plan, and paid time off.
