Residential Counsellor

Springboard is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Residential Counsellor to join our team at the Youth Justice Residence. As a key member of our community-based program, you will play a vital role in supporting young individuals aged 12-17 who are in detention awaiting court or serving a period of custody.
As a Residential Counsellor, you will be responsible for providing individualized support, supervision, and life skills training to our clients. You will work closely with our team to create a safe and inclusive environment that fosters personal growth, social interaction, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support and supervision to clients
- Develop and implement life skills training programs
- Collaborate with the team to create a safe and inclusive environment
- Participate in community outreach and recreational activities
- Contribute to administrative tasks and program development
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- A post-secondary diploma or degree in the Social Services field
- Valid First Aid and CPI certifications
- At least one year of recent work experience in youth justice or a related field
- Strong knowledge of the Youth Criminal Justice Act and social service agencies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
