Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our Community Stroke Rehabilitation Team in Owen Sound. The ideal candidate will have experience in stroke rehabilitation and a strong understanding of current best practices in the management of dysphagia.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide speech and language services to referred stroke survivors within the Grey and Bruce Counties area.
  • Focus on swallowing disorders, cognitive impairment, and attaining optimal communication and conversation abilities.
  • Provide client-specific consultation and education/training/in-services related to stroke rehabilitation for service providers, caregivers, and families.
  • Work collaboratively as a member of an interprofessional team to deliver innovative rehabilitation services to help stroke survivors and their caregivers reach their optimal level of recovery.

Requirements

  • Member in good standing of the College of Audiologists and Speech and Language Pathologists of Ontario.
  • Master's degree or equivalent in Speech Language Pathology.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
  • Clinical expertise and experience in stroke rehabilitation and demonstrated knowledge of current stroke rehabilitation best practices.
  • Experience in clinical assessment of swallowing.
  • Experience in working in a community setting and an interprofessional team environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, and innovation skills.
  • Proven flexibility and a high level of initiative.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ADP Authorizer.
