Theoretical Foundations in Human Service Practice Specialist

Thompson Rivers University is seeking a qualified Content Expert/Curriculum Developer to lead the revision of HUMS 2221: Theoretical Foundations in Human Service Practice.
Key Responsibilities- Develop a detailed course planning document, including learning outcomes, activities, and assessments.
- Revise and/or create content, multimedia, and active learning activities to ensure relevance and engagement.
- Choose effective resources, prioritize accessibility, and accurately cite sources.
- Collaborate with the Instructional Designer and course development team.
- Meet deliverables according to the agreed-upon timeline and respond to project-related communication.
- Provide constructive feedback and participate in post-development contract evaluation.
- Doctorate in Social Work, Child and Youth Care, or EdD with a Master's degree in Social Work or Child and Youth Care.
- Minimum five years of full-time practice experience as a social worker or child and youth care worker.
- Demonstration of current engagement in the course subject matter through practice, research, and/or teaching.
- Proven course development skills and teaching experience at the post-secondary level.
- Demonstrated experience in integrating Indigenous knowledge and teaching methods.
- Proven skills in building student capacity for intercultural understanding, empathy, and mutual respect.
- Demonstrated ability to write in a clear and consistent style and meet deadlines.
