Sessional Lecturer

Thompson Rivers University invites applications for a sessional lecturer to teach SOCW 3670 - Family and Child Welfare Practice in Winter 2025.
The course focuses on analyzing family and child welfare systems and current British Columbia models of practice from anti-oppression, Indigenous, and feminist perspectives.
Applicants should have a doctoral degree with an MSW preferred, or an MSW with specialized theoretical content knowledge.
They should also have successful teaching experience in post-secondary institutions and a minimum of five years of related practice experience.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential.
Candidates must demonstrate experience in integrating Indigenous knowledge and teaching methods, as well as building student capacity for intercultural understanding, empathy, and mutual respect.
Teaching excellence, including developing culturally appropriate curricula, is also required.
Applicants must provide evidence of their ability to commit to creating time and space for relationships based on respect as human beings, supporting and embracing differences with kindness, love, and respect.
