Job Summary

The Collaborative Practice and Out of Care Options team is a dedicated and supportive group committed to making a meaningful impact on the community. This team works closely with various partners, including Child Protection, Family Service, Children and Youth Mental Health, Children and Youth Support Needs, and Youth Justice to bring families together to collaborate on creating meaningful family and cultural plans, and out-of-care plans.

The Role
This Team Leader, Collaborative Practice Decision Making and Out of Care Options oversees and implements the Collaborative Practice and Out of Care Options teams, as well as acts as a vital liaison participating in both internal and external committees. Your work will directly impact the lives of local children and families by giving them a voice in their care planning and ensuring that their extended and chosen families are included in the process.

Qualifications
Applicants may be considered who meet the preferred or expanded credentials and experience requirements. The preferred credentials include a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Social Work or in Child & Youth Care, or a Master's Degree in Educational Counselling Psychology/Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology with completion of a practicum in family and child welfare. The expanded credentials include a Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services field, or a Bachelor's Degree with a Major/Honors in a Human Services field, or a Master's level graduate Certificate/Diploma in a Human Services field after the completion of an unrelated Bachelor's Degree. The experience requirements include at least 2 years of job-specific work experience, and experience supervising staff. Preference may be given to applicants with the following: preferred education credentials, in-service Ministry of Children and Family Development employees who hold a regular full working level SPO 24-30 base position that requires delegation under the Child, Family and Community Services Act (CFCSA), eligible for delegation under the Child, Family and Community Services Act (CFCSA), who hold existing delegation under the Child, Family and Community Services Act (CFCSA), experience working in Collaborative Practice Decision Making, experience working in Out of Care, at least 6 months experience supervising staff, experience supervising staff in a unionized environment, and applicants who self-identify as First Nations, Métis or Inuit with the required combination of education and experience.
