About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Worker to join our team at Canning Personal Care Home. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our building systems and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our residents and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Building Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure the building's systems and equipment are functioning properly, including heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Repairs and Maintenance: Make adjustments and minor repairs to building systems and equipment, and contact tradespersons for major repairs as needed.
  • Cleaning and Disinfection: Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures to maintain a high level of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Snow and Ice Removal: Remove snow and ice from walkways and parking areas to ensure safe access to the building.
  • Supervision: Supervise other workers and ensure that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field.
  • Work Setting: Health care institution, facility or clinic.
  • Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding, bending, crouching, kneeling.
  • Personal Suitability: Dependability, flexibility, initiative, judgement, organized, reliability.
