Maintenance Worker

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Worker - Building Services to join our team at Canning Personal Care Home. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our building systems and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our residents and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance tasks on heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems, including making adjustments and minor repairs.
- Contact contractors for major repairs and maintenance of the establishment.
- Perform minor repairs on appliances and equipment.
- Conduct safety and security checks to ensure the well-being of our residents and staff.
- Supervise other workers and provide guidance and support as needed.
- Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies as required.
- Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair.
- Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures to maintain a high level of hygiene.
- Work with minimal supervision and take initiative to complete tasks efficiently.
- Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas during winter months.
You will be working in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision, requiring strong organizational and time management skills. You will be expected to work under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.
Requirements- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.
- 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and move equipment and supplies.
- Dependability, flexibility, initiative, judgement, organized, reliability and other personal suitability traits.
