The Building Maintenance Worker plays a crucial role in ensuring the functionality and safety of our facility at Canning Personal Care Home. This position involves a variety of tasks aimed at maintaining a comfortable and secure environment for residents and staff.

Qualifications
  • Education: Completion of secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year in a similar role
Work Environment

This role is situated within a health care institution, providing essential services to the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform adjustments and minor repairs on heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems, while coordinating with tradespersons for major repairs.
  • Engage contractors for necessary repairs and maintenance of the facility.
  • Conduct minor repairs on appliances to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Execute safety and security inspections to uphold a safe environment.
  • Oversee the work of other maintenance staff.
  • Assist in moving heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Carry out routine maintenance tasks, including painting and drywall repairs.
  • Maintain cleanliness by disinfecting bathrooms and fixtures.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Clear snow and ice from walkways and parking areas to ensure safety.
