Position Overview

The Building Maintenance Worker plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facility. This position requires a dedicated individual to maintain the functionality and safety of our premises.

Qualifications
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year in a similar role
Work Environment

This role is situated within a health care institution, where the maintenance of a safe and clean environment is paramount.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct adjustments and minor repairs on heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems, while coordinating with tradespersons for significant repairs.
  • Engage contractors for necessary repairs and maintenance of the facility.
  • Perform minor appliance repairs and ensure safety and security checks are completed.
  • Oversee the work of other maintenance staff as needed.
  • Handle the movement of heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies.
  • Execute routine maintenance tasks, including painting and drywall repairs.
  • Maintain cleanliness by disinfecting bathrooms and fixtures.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Clear snow and ice from walkways and parking areas.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage repetitive tasks.
  • Physically demanding role requiring bending, crouching, and kneeling.
