Job Title: Human Resources Strategic Partner

We are seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Strategic Partner to join our team at YouthLink. This is a permanent, non-bargaining unit position working full-time, 35 hours/week, with the requirement to be in the office five days per week.

Job Description:
The Human Resources Strategic Partner will provide ongoing human resource and people management guidance and recommendations to leaders in a unionized environment. The successful candidate will oversee a team of three HR Generalists and directly contribute to the human resources strategy, policies, and practices, encompassing talent acquisition and development, labour and employee relations, onboarding, HRIS, performance management, payroll and benefits administration, WSIB and employee relations. As the subject matter expert, the Human Resources Strategic Partner will take ownership of developing, coordinating, and implementing programs, policies, learning and development, and practices that foster inclusivity, diversity, equality, and accessibility (IDEA) within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the team, including coaching and mentoring HR Generalists, completing performance reviews, removing roadblocks, and managing conflict as needed.
  • Administer the collective agreement, ensuring compliance with the Collective Agreement, addressing grievances, and facilitating investigations or mediations to restore team harmony.
  • Contribute to strategy, actively participating in organizational initiatives and committees, driving the success of the Strategic Plan.
  • Employee relations and engagement, serving as a trusted advisor to employees and managers to foster a workplace with highly engaged and satisfied teams.
  • Oversee end-to-end recruitment, partnering with leadership to develop bias-free strategies that attract full-time, contract, casual, and student candidates dedicated to our mission.
  • Manage employee data, maintaining accurate, confidential employee records, conducting regular audits, and generating reports to support management decisions.

Requirements:
To be considered for this role, the successful candidate must have a 3-year diploma or a university degree in Human Resources and ideally, a CHRP/CHRL designation. The ideal candidate will also have worked as a team supervisor for at least 1 year managing attendance, conducting performance appraisals, and identifying professional development and career path opportunities for direct reports. They should have deep experience supporting managers, ideally within a unionized environment, and an understanding of the full recruitment cycle and payroll administration. The Human Resources Strategic Partner must be comfortable managing data in an HRIS and able to come up to speed with ADP's HR and Benefits module and Workforce Now. They should be proficient with MS Office Suite and possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor their approach to connect to people at all levels with sensitivity, tact, empathy, and professionalism.

Estimated Salary:$85,000 - $95,000 per annum, based on industry standards and comparable positions in the Greater Toronto Area.
