Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Simplot Grower Solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with Procurement Leads to ensure the best position for Simplot Grower Solutions in the acquisition of Seed, Seed Care, Inoculant, and Crop Protection products. This role will also involve leading and inspiring excellence in forecasting and planning for products to ensure Simplot Grower Solutions is a leader in inventory management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Procurement Leads to manage and track distribution warehouse inventories, counts, and logistics of product to retail locations to maximize efficiencies of warehouse capacities and profitability.
  • Monitor aging inventory by location.
  • Enter new products into ERP.
  • Be a point of contact for suppliers and distributors to collect information.
  • Collect internal forecasts and communicate inventory forecast position reports to wholesale distributors and manufacturers.
  • Work closely within Procurement team in the development of reporting systems to ensure proper tracking of shipments and supply contracts.
  • Responsible for sales data reporting and validations.
  • Ensure current understanding of all products, load, and package sizes appropriate to Simplot Grower Solutions Markets.
  • Work closely with the Market Office Coordinators, Office Administrators, and Finance & Accounting Team to ensure successful matching of purchase orders, purchase receipts, and invoicing within our ERP systems.
  • Assist in logistics of custom seed treating – work with sales staff to ensure the most efficient use of custom seed treaters.

Industry Liaison

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships and large industry network as directed by Crop Protection & Seed Manager.
  • Communicate with designated representatives for manufactures and distributors.
  • Learn and upgrade knowledge of new products and product updates on CPP and Seed as required.
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of key industry people and competitors.

SGS Team Member

  • Keep and maintain confidentiality of all customers, staff, and suppliers and Simplot Grower Solutions business.

  • Maintain and tidy up office and yard.
  • Demonstrate respect and courtesy for all staff, customers, suppliers, and community.

Expectations in addition to Roles and Responsibilities

  • Retail locations are the primary profit centers for Simplot Grower Solutions. Build trust with locations on what they can expect for product delivery in season and off season and that moving product for the benefit of all customers will lead us towards our ideal culture.
  • Become a Procurement contact for distribution and manufacturers to strengthen our partnerships to gain advantage over the competition.
  • Align with Crop Protection & Seed Manager on evolving new culture.
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with Market Managers, Location Operations Managers, and location operations team member.
