Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Control Systems Hardware Designer to join our team at ATS Life Sciences Systems. As a key member of our Controls Engineering Department, you will be responsible for designing and developing complete controls solutions and electrical design packages for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop complete controls solutions and electrical design packages based on customer specifications and standardized design practices.
  • Work with mechanical designers to design control systems that enable machines to perform their intended functions safely and reliably.
  • Formulate and produce detailed electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics, cable routing diagrams, panel layouts, bills of materials, and material requisitions.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Controls Engineering Department and other groups to improve methods of integrating controls technology and reduce costs.
  • Specify electrical and controls-related hardware and software and produce requisitions for material purchases.
  • Integrate third-party equipment and electronic components into electrical design packages.
  • Verify that electrical design packages are complete, accurate, and safe based on sound design practices and accepted standards.
  • Provide customers with training on electrical hardware, machine operation, programming principles, program functionality, and program structure.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A post-secondary technology diploma or engineering degree or equivalent, specializing in electronics, electrical, or controls technology.
  • Five years of experience in electrical control systems design, preferably in the industrial automation field.
  • A working knowledge of ePlan and AutoCAD and the ability to keep abreast of leading-edge technology.
