Arvan Rehab Group: Long Term Care Physiotherapy Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated Physiotherapy Assistant to work in our Long Term Care facility in Kingsville, Ontario.

About the Role

The successful candidate will assist residents in implementing treatment programs and achieving their goals under the supervision of a Physiotherapist. The ideal candidate should have excellent multi-tasking skills, ability to communicate effectively with the elderly and team members, and possess a strong understanding of physiotherapy principles and practices.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist with conducting group exercises for residents and lead one-on-one sessions as directed by the Physiotherapist.
  • Encourage residents to reach the goals of their planned treatment programs if appropriate.
  • Document treatments and residents' progress after each therapy session per the Physiotherapist's instructions.
  • Assist residents with walking, sitting, and safe transferring.
  • Monitor any changes to a resident's health status and report to the Physiotherapist or supervisor.
  • Perform treatments such as applying an ice pack or hot pack, ultrasound therapy, TENS (electrotherapy), hot wax, etc.
Requirements
  • Must be a Physiotherapy Assistant graduate or equivalent.
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to communicate well with the elderly, supervisors, and teammates.
  • Experience working in a Long Term Care or Retirement home would be a definite asset.
  • Current police check for the Vulnerable Sector is required.
  • Valid 2 STEP TB Test and/or Chest X-Ray is required.
  • Access to a reliable vehicle with Valid Drivers License is required (This position is NOT ACCESSIBLE BY BUS).
  • We will NOT consider RELOCATION - Must be a resident of Kingsville and/or Windsor Area.

This is a $40-$50/hour, temporary coverage opportunity requiring approximately 37.5 hours of work per week from January 13th to February 7th, 2025. If you're a motivated and detail-oriented individual looking for a rewarding role in healthcare, we encourage you to apply.
