This role requires extensive expertise in mine planning, particularly with Deswik software, as well as strong leadership and collaboration abilities. You will work closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure strategic alignment of mine operations with business goals, focusing on production optimization, sustainability, and operational safety.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and optimizing long-term mine plans using Deswik or other tools to maximize gold deposit value while aligning with operational, financial, and safety objectives.
  • Conducting life-of-mine (LOM) planning, feasibility studies, and scenario modeling to support decision-making on investments and production strategies.
  • Collaborating with geology, operations, and environmental teams to ensure effective implementation of strategic mine plans by site operations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10-15 years of experience in open pit mine planning, with at least 5 years in a senior or leadership role in an open pit gold mining operation.
  • Advanced proficiency in Deswik for mine planning, scheduling, and mine optimization.
  • Experience in open pit gold mining operations, resource modeling, and reserve estimation.
  • Extensive experience in conducting LOM studies, pit optimization, and economic analysis of mining projects.
  • Direct operational experience in open-pit mining.

Education/Certification/Designation:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related areas.
  • Postgraduate degree in the related area considered an asset.
  • Designated or eligible for P.Eng is required.

Technical Skills/Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of Brazilian mining regulations, environmental standards, and community relations.
  • Fluency in English (speaking and writing).
  • Fluency in Portuguese is an asset (speaking and writing).
